Supporting
teachers
As
well as supporting the PSHEE and careers education
curricula at Key Stage 4, the resources can be used to support other
subjects, including English, drama, citizenship and the society, health
and development diploma. Each activity comes complete with teacher
notes, student worksheets and PowerPoint slides, and can be adapted
to suit the length of your lessons.
You
might also want to explore the rest of the teachers'
area of the NHS
Careers website,
where you'll find lots of other useful information, including
the opportunity to sign-up to the e-newsletter. The
team at NHS Careers would love to know what you think
about the new resources. Please email them at nhscareers@nhsemployers.org with
any comments or questions you may have. |

Apprenticeships
It's
National Apprenticeship Week all this week, the perfect
opportunity to find out about more about vocational
study options.
Apprenticeships
provide routes into a variety of careers, including many in the NHS,
and offer the opportunity to earn, learn and achieve nationally
recognised qualifications at the same time. The number
of apprenticeship posts in the NHS has grown significantly
in recent years with the latest figures show that there
will be 9,000
new apprentices starting
in the NHS in 2012.
