Apprenticeships v.s. University

University can be a great way of furthering your knowledge in a particular field. However it is becoming increasingly expensive to go to university and the competition for graduate job opportunities is fiercer than ever.

Apprenticeships might not always be seen as academically valuable as a degree but the practical skills that they develop are essential for employers in many industries. Apprentices also have the majority of their learning paid for and earn a wage at the same time.

For some real life labour market experience and an insight into apprenticeship and graduate careers take a few minutes to watch some of the films in our Apprenticeship and Going to Uni channels.
