The Knowledge Economy is very difficult to define but is potentially massive and incorporates elements of SuperPort and the Low Carbon (‘Green’) Economy too, but the four main areas are: Life Sciences, Creative and Digital Industries, Advanced Manufacturing, Financial and Professional Services. It is hoped that 60,000 jobs will be created locally in these sectors by 2020.
