Who are we?

Skillsmart retail is the sector skills council for retail skills development and promotion, contributing to improved productivity.
Their key activities include influencing governments in promoting and addressing skills needs,developing and promoting skills and qualifications,making the business case for skills to employers,promoting retail as a career of choice,run by retailers for retailers,Skillsmart Retail operates under licence to the Department for Education and Skills and is part of the Skills for Business Network.

As the largest private sector employer with over 3 million employees retail is a dynamic and evolving sector with opportunities available for everyone from school leavers to graduates and returners to work.
